Dr Fikile Tsela
Dr Fikile Tsela is a Specialist Physician and Nephrologist in private practice in Pretoria, where she provides specialist nephrology services in a number of private dialysis facilities, her base being at Unitas Hospital. Dr Tsela is also a director of a private dialysis facility in the Kingdom of Eswatini, from where she originates.
Dr Tsela commenced her career development with a Bachelor of Sciences degree at the University of Eswatini, going on to pursue a Bachelor of Medicine degree at MEDUNSA.
She qualified as a Specialist Physician at the University of the Witwatersrand in 2010, further qualifying as a Nephrologist in 2013.
Dr Tsela is a Director of Happime (Pty) Ltd and the Happime Foundation, an organization dedicated to providing high quality, affordable sanitary towels to disadvantaged girls, thus ensuring that the Girl Child stays in school. This resonates with her, as she is the mother of four girls.
Dr Keorapetse Tabane
Dr Keo Tabane is a Specialist Physician, Medical Oncologist and Director of Sandton Oncology in Johannesburg, a privately-run Oncology Unit, where she has practiced since 2008.
Dr Tabane completed her undergraduate medical training at MEDUNSA in 1999. She went on to qualify as a Specialist Physician in 2005, and as a Medical Oncologist in 2008.
She has a special interest in Genomic Profiling in Breast Cancer, and in HIV associated cancers.
Dr Tabane sits on the executive committee of the South African Society of Medical Oncologists (SASMO) and is a former committee member of the Breast Interest Group of South Africa (BIGOSA).
She is involved in international collaborative clinical trials in the areas of breast cancer, lung cancer, colon cancer, melanoma and head and neck cancers among others.
As the first black South African woman to qualify as a Medical Oncologist, Dr Tabane has a special interest in empowering and enabling young woman.
Dr Tabane is the co-founder and Director of Happime (Pty) Ltd and the Happime Foundation, an organisation dedicated to fighting period poverty by providing high quality sanitary towels to girls in disadvantaged communities, thus ensuring that the Girl Child stays in school.
